A Few Small Things Need to Be Done Daily:

  • clean the water dispenser and replace it with fresh water
  • remove all leftover food, clean the dish and provide fresh food

Every 2-4 Days:

  • replace the disposable potty pad/washable fleece pad (it is recommended to have about 3 for the rotation) with a fresh one

Weekly:

  • remove all plastic surfaces, trays and toys made of plastic (including a running wheel and any climbing structures) and wash well with warm water and blue Dawn dish soap, rinse and wipe it dry
  • wipe down the cage with a special cage cleaning glove with soapy water, wipe it down again after rinsing out the glove and then wipe dry

Every 3 Weeks, on Rotation:

  • take half of the fleece sleeping bags, hammocks and any fleece toys and wash them in the washing machine (It is important not to wash everything in one go as sugar gliders are very territorial and they will start marking on these items if they don’t recognize their own smell on any of them all of a sudden.)

It is also recommended to have an air purifier next to the cage to prevent any odor.
